KINGSFORD – Bridget Lynn Brock, 12, of Kingsford, passed away on Wednesday, July 24, 2013, at Children’s Hospital in Milwaukee surrounded by her loving family after a lifelong courageous battle with a complex chronic medical illness.
She was born on Aug. 8, 2000, in Marquette, daughter of Scott and Laura (Heyrman) Brock. She and her family are members of Our Saviour’s Lutheran Church. Bridget enjoyed camping, fishing, horseback riding, singing and listening to music.
She has donated her hair to Locks of Love three times over the years, putting others ahead of herself even while dealing with her own struggles. More than anything Bridget loved spending time with family and friends, especially with her two brothers.
Bridget is survived by her loving parents, Scott and Laura Brock of Kingsford; brothers, Nicholas and Kent Brock of Kingsford; grandparents, Ed and Barbara Heyrman, Chum and Phyllis Brock, and Barry and Diane Hoover; great-grandfather, Jess Leffel; and great-grandmother, Wilma Fryman, all of Munising. She is further survived by many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
Visitation will be Thursday from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Our Saviour’s Lutheran Church in Iron Mountain.
The funeral service will follow Thursday at 1 p.m. at the church. Rev. Lee and Rev. Lori Liverance will officiate.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial will be established in Bridget’s memory.
