BENTONVILLE, Ark. – Bette I. Cousineau, 85, of Centerton, Ark., formerly of Kingsford, passed away on Monday, June 22, 2013, at Northwest Health System in Bentonville.
Bette was born April 25, 1928, in Norway, daughter of the late Alfred and Myrtle (Hiller) Nelson. She married Kenneth Cousineau on May 5, 1945, in Escanaba.
Bette felt privileged to have raised her younger brother and sister, Ron and Joan, as well as being the caregiver for her aunt, Carrie. She was a longtime member of the First Lutheran Church in Iron Mountain. Bette enjoyed bowling and was a talented water color and oil based painter.
She is survived by her husband of 68 years, Ken; a son, Gregg (Debbie) Cousineau of Centerton; brothers, Alfred “Pelly” Nelson of Green Bay, Wis., and Ron Nelson of Arizona; a sister, Joan (Paul) Norris of Kansas City, Mo.; two grandsons, Cory and Boyd Cousineau; a great-granddaughter, Alexandra; and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be Tuesday, from 10 a.m. to noon at the Erickson-Rochon & Nash Funeral Home in Iron Mountain.
Funeral services will follow at noon at the funeral home. Rev. James Lindgren will officiate.
Entombment will be in Cemetery Park.
The family requests that flowers be omitted.
