Laurila junior tennis tourney approaching
KINGSFORD – The 2013 Phyllis Laurila Junior Tennis Tournament, with singles and doubles competitions, will take place Tuesday, July 30, and Wednesday, July 31, at Kingsford High School courts.
Deadline to enter is Monday, July 29.
Girls and boys can compete in age 18, 16, 14 and 12 singles (Tuesday) and doubles (Wednesday). Girls report at 8:45 a.m. and boys at 10 a.m.
Entry fee is $10 for singles and $20 for doubles, plus one can of tennis balls per person or doubles team.
“Entry fees should be paid upon arrival when checking into events,” said tournament director Alec Tuchowski.
Awards will be presented to all winners and finalists in singles and doubles. USTA membership is not required.
Pepsi, Bink’s Coca-Cola and Iron Mountain-Kingsford Community Schools are sponsoring the tournament.
