Casperson to speak at ACE program Tuesday
IRON MOUNTAIN – State Sen. Tom Casperson, R-Escanaba, will be the guest speaker as Americans for Constitutional Enforcement (ACE) hosts a dinner/meeting on Tuesday at Recreation Lanes in Iron Mountain
Social hour is at 5:30 p.m. The dinner (optional must RSVP at 396-7810 or 774-3310) is $6.95 for Italian beef, bun, chips, beverage and desert. The meeting is from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.
ACE members have requested Casperson’s appearance to respond to questions on Agenda 21. He will speak about “Environmental Restrictions, Regulations and Policies.”
The public is welcome and will be invited to write down their questions for Casperson to answer at the end of his presentation.
Casperson served three terms in the Michigan House of Representatives prior to his election to the Michigan Senate in 2010. Prior to his career in the Legislature, Casperson worked for 27 years in his family’s log trucking business.
Also at this meeting will be available for purchase books co-authored by Casperson’s wife, Diane, “New Breast Friend.” The inspirational books are about Diane’s two-time battle and recovery from breast cancer.
At the July 4 parade, Judge Mary Barglind drew the winning name for the Marlin .270 deer rifle to be presented by ACE at this meeting. The winner of the gun was Douglas Harder of Felch. to receive his gun, Harder is to attend this meeting with a photo ID. The gun was donated to ACE by Mike Sheehy of the Gun Barn in Iron River.
Proceeds from the drawing will help ACE to pay for some of the 11,300 pocket size U.S. Constitution books ACE handed out to area schools and in The Daily News last September during Constitution Week.
ACE meets the third Tuesday of every month (except December) at Recreation Lanes in Iron Mountain.
