Negaunee teen hurt in car-bike crash

NEGAUNEE – A Negaunee teen was injured Tuesday in a car-bicycle accident in Negaunee Township.

The accident occurred at 9:12 p.m. on County Road 492 between M-35 and Forge Road.

Troopers from the Negaunee post of the Michigan State Police said that a 16-year-old Negaunee resident was traveling west on a bicycle when a westbound vehicle driven by a 20-year-old Negaunee resident came up from behind and hit the bicycle.

The teen was transported by Bell EMS to Marquette General Hospital for treatment of injuries, said troopers.

Troopers said that the accident remains under investigation.

Assisting at the scene were the Negaunee Police Department and the Negaunee Township Fire Department.
