CRYSTAL FALLS – Vivian Budzak Miller Honkala, 96, of Crystal Falls, passed away, Saturday, June 22, 2013, at the Iron County Medical Care Facility in Crystal Falls.
She was born March 2, 1917, in Commonwealth, Wis., daughter of the late Frank and Ida (Youngell) Budzak. Vivian went to Stambaugh High School and graduated with the class of 1935.
Vivian married Joseph A. Miller and he preceded her in death on Oct. 1, 1955. In December 1957, she married Emil Honkala. He preceded her in death on June 24, 1982.
Survivors include two daughters, Elaine (Louis) Kudwa of Crystal Falls and Joanne (Bob) Cailotto of Iron River; two sons, Jim (Sandy) Miller of Grand Haven, Mich. and Michael (Carolyn) Miller of Stephenson; 12 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren; one brother, Lowell (Helen) Budzak of Roseburg, Ore.; one sister-in-law, Marilyn Budzak of Iron River; and nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husbands, Vivian was preceded in death by a great-grandson, Steve Dennis; two sisters, Emily Johnson and Gladys Budzak; and a brother, Joel Budzak.
Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the Jacobs-Plowe Funeral Home in Crystal Falls.
The funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Guardian Angels Catholic Church in Crystal Falls. Rev. Jeffrey Kurtz will officiate.
Burial will be in Evergreen Memorial Cemetery in Crystal Falls.
