Summer Farmer’s Market in Iron Mountain in full swing
IRON MOUNTAIN – The summer Iron Mountain Farmer’s & Artisan’s Market is now in full swing with the next market scheduled for Saturday from 8 a.m. to noon.
The market is located across from the Dickinson County Library, and is managed and operated by Iron Mountain Downtown Development Authority/Main Street volunteers. The market will open to approved vendors at 7:15 a.m.
Hedmark’s Maple Ridge will be at the market selling their maple syrup and maple products. They have maple syrup in a variety of different size containers, both plastic and glass. Fred Hedmark loves to talk about maple syrup and the health benefits from using it in your daily diet. Bonnie also sells her natural hand lotion bars, bath salts, eye pillows and lavender sachets.
Currently Hedmark’s have rhubarb and later on in the season sell a variety of vegetables from their garden
Space may still be available for those wishing to sell locally grown plants, artist and crafters producing unique products from natural or organic materials, and locally produced food products.
“We have adopted some new policies to assist with ensuring an organized and professional atmosphere,” noted DDA/MS manager Jonathan Ringel. “Vendors will no longer be accepted on site but rather will be required to submit a completed application for the Market Committee to review. Local artist and farm vendors are encouraged to plan ahead for attendance at the market.”
The market is also interested in providing a forum for local entertainers. Interested entertainers wanting to participate in the market or citizens seeking additional information, contact the Iron Mountain Main Street at 774-8534 or email firstname.lastname@example.org
