James L. Ayotte

SUN CITY CENTER, Fla. – James L. Ayotte, 78, of Sun City Center, passed away Tuesday, June 18, 2013. He was born (June 6, 1935) and raised in Watersmeet. He served in the Army in Germany. Jim was a 25-year employee at Eagle Tool in Iron Mountain.

Former owners of the Plaza Motel, Jim and his wife Judy of 55 years, raised their three children in Racine, Wis., Ewen, Mich., and Iron Mountain. He was a former Mason, and member of the Iron Mountain Elks Lodge. After relocating to Sun City Center in 2002, he was president of the Acadia HOA and King’s Point Garden Club. He served as director of the King’s Point Federation Board and he was an honorary member of the COA gifts and grants committee.

Jim was an avid outdoorsman. He enjoyed hunting and fishing with his dog Whitey; and his trips to Biloxi, Miss., with his wife and friends.

He is survived by his wife, Judy; brother, Ben (Georgia) of Racine; daughter, Tracy (Greg) of Ocoee, Fla.; sons, James (Tammy) of Bellaire Bluffs, Fla., and Benjamin (Laura) of Colorado Springs, Colo.; seven grandsons, Jacob (Amy), Christopher (Kari), Jed (Brittany), Blaine, Carter, Griffin, and Hayden; two great-granddaughters, Quinn and Kinley; and two great-grandsons, Nicholas and Kyle.

He will be greatly missed by family and friends.
