CRYSTAL FALLS – An out-of-state man accused of leading authorities on a high-speed chase through two counties appeared in Iron County Trial Court on Wednesday.
Karl Friedrich-Johannes Dresch, 32, decided to waive the 14 day rule for his preliminary examination.
Defendants are entitled to a preliminary examination within 14 days of their arraignment. However, they can waive the requirement and reschedule the preliminary examination for a later date if they wish.
Dresch’s preliminary examination was continued to July 8.
In Iron County, Dresch faces one felony count of fleeing and eluding-fourth degree, one misdemeanor count of operating while intoxicated, and one misdemeanor count of open intoxicants in a vehicle.
If convicted, he could spend up to two years in prison.
