One injured in U.S. 2 crash

IRON MOUNTAIN – A Kingsford woman was treated for non-life threatening injuries and a Norway man was issued a citation after a two-vehicle crash that occurred on U.S. 2 Tuesday.

The Iron Mountain Police Department was dispatched to the two-car personal injury accident on U.S. 2 at the entrance to the Dollar Tree Store at 3 p.m.

Lt. Ed Mattson said a vehicle driven by a 67-year-old woman from Kingsford attempted to pull onto U.S. 2 from the Dollar Tree entrance and struck a vehicle that was eastbound on U.S. 2.

The second vehicle was driven by a 47-year-old man from Norway.

The 67-year-old woman was transported to Dickinson County Hospital with non-life threatening injuries. She was cited for failing to yield the right-of-way.

The Iron Mountain Police Department was assisted on scene by the Dickinson County Sheriff’s Department, Beacon Ambulance and the Iron Mountain Fire Department who cleaned up vehicle fluids and parts.
