Bernadette Anderson

HAMILTON LAKES – Bernadette Anderson, 55, of Hamilton Lakes, woke up with our Lord in Heaven on Monday, June 3, 2013. She was welcomed by her parents, family and friends.

She was born on April 3, 1958, in Iron Mountain, the daughter of the late Harry and Marion (Oberthaler) Anderson.

Bernadette was an active member of St. Mary Catholic Church in Norway.

She graduated from special education in 1984 with David Kampinen, her dear friend.

Bernie worked at TRICO Opportunities for 20 years, retiring in 2004 and celebrating with a trip to Punta Cana. She enjoyed swimming, snorkeling, jet-skiing, kayaking, paddle boating and taking friends and family for long trips around the lake.

Bernie loved to travel the U.S. and abroad with family and friends, Paris, France, being her favorite city. She enjoyed the food from foreign countries, especially her favorite, pomme frittes with mayo.

Bernadette enjoyed latch hooking – which she won many ribbons for at the county fair – playing cards, talking on the phone, taking sunset pictures and partying.

She was gifted in social skills, talking to everyone, and remembering names, birthdates and phone numbers. She was witty and had a great sense of humor.

Bernadette is survived by her sisters, Kathy Morgan (Larry Suino) and Dorothy Anderson (Angelo Chiocchi); her brother, Royce (Pam) Anderson; nieces and nephews, Kristine (Mike) Jones, Todd (Tonia) Pierce, Kaite Anderson and Andrei Anderson; and step-nephew, Nick Bronzyk; great-nieces and great-nephews, Brittany, Jacob, Zachary and Caleb Jones, Brandon (Charlot) and Derrick Pierce; stepmother, Linnea Anderson; stepsister, Marsha (Bruce) Torretti and two daughters; and stepbrothers, Tom (Cindy) Porta and their nine children and Chuck (Kitty) Porta and their four children.

Family will greet friends on Friday from 9:30 a.m. to noon at St. Mary Catholic Church in Norway.

A memorial Mass will be celebrated on Friday at noon at the church with Fr. Timothy Ekaitis presiding.

Her family requests that in lieu of flowers, a memorial will be established in Bernie’s name.
