Logo stops Best

KINGSFORD – Lindeman Logo Sports, playing what coaches referred to as its best game of the season, knocked off Best Heating 6-2 in Little League Major softball Monday.

In a game that featured great defensive plays on both sides, Logo pitcher Hannah Dober struck out five and walked one. Mikayla Ray hit two triples, and Brook Blaskowski, Dober and Mackenzie Swanson also had hits for Logo.

Jaclyn Bal pitched for Best Heating. Payton Castelaz had a double, while Mary Slagle, Allison Olson and Callie Paul had singles.

…Sam Santi socked three hits and Cooper Office Equipment edged Beaulier Buildings 5-4 in Little League senior baseball.

COE pitcher Brock Grenier allowed four hits and struck out 11 before leaving in the seventh inning. Jake Thomann came on to get the last out of the game, recording a strikeout with two runners on base.

Beaulier’s Brady Hicks pitched a complete game, permitting nine hits and whiffing eight.

Joe Lind had two hits to lead Beaulier.

…In Kingsford major baseball, Dairy Queen knocked off the Lions 13-7. Dante Fortner hit a double, and Cole Bracket, Reece Fortner, Jack Perpich and Nate Henes added singles for the Lions.

Dante Fortner, Logan Normand and Henes worked the mound, with Normand’s six strikeouts leading the way.

…FNB got by Protech 6-3 in another major contest. FNB pitcher Nick McCole struck out eight while giving up seven hits. Protech pitchers Matt Moreau and Brent Aman struck out nine and gave up seven hits. FNB’s McCole had three hits with a double. Dennis Folkerts had his first Little League hit. Protech’s Hunter Lindeman had two hits, including a triple.

…Schneider Iron and Metal downed Jacobson Logging 17-16 in major softball at Felch Field. Cassie Barglind had two hits to lead Schneider. Carly Schneider and Sam Cross also had a hits. Cross, Barglind and Maggie Strehlow combined for 11 strikeouts while Juliann Wickman struck out 10 for Jacobson. Schneider improved to 6-1 on the season.

…In another major softball game, Arms of Angels Transportation defeated Niagara Blagec Heating 9-0. Winning pitcher for the Angels was Kate Cook, with relief from Olivia Olkanen and Abby Zander. The Angels were led at the plate by Sarah Premo with three hits and Viola Warden with two hits. Jessica Tomasoski, Lexi Roberge, and Jeana Palmer each added a hit.
