SPREAD EAGLE, Wis. – Steven Richard Romaker, 60, of Spread Eagle, passed away at his cabin in Eagle Harbor, Mich. on May 31, 2013.
He was born on Aug. 10, 1952, in Defiance, Ohio, to Richard and Jean (Johann) Romaker. He was a graduate of Michigan Technological University and of Bowling Green State University. Steve worked as a human resource manager and in organizational development for Champion in Quinnesec. He later founded Agate Harbor Consulting L.L.C.
He was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed spending his time exploring the wilderness with his family his entire life. He enjoyed cooking, fishing, motorcycling and four wheeling with his wife, Jan. Steve was a “great” Grandpa according to his grandchildren. He was a proud father and a loving husband. He will always be in our thoughts.
He is survived by his wife, Jan Romaker; two sons, Josh and Jason (Judith); father, Richard; brother, Ken (Audrey) Romaker; sisters, Carol (Ron) Steffel and Ann (Dave) Trivett; stepson, Joe (Danielle) Dumais; stepdaughters, Jenni Dumais and Jodi (Jackson) Sands; and grandchildren, Steven, Giovanna, Kathryn, Kerra, Jordyn, Jake and Joey.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Jean.
A remembrance gathering will be held at the Eagle Harbor Inn, 460 W. North St., Eagle Harbor, MI 49950, on Saturday, June 8, at 2 p.m. Eastern time.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial will be established in his memory.
