CAPE CORAL, Fla. – Mike R. Seaman, 70, of Cape Coral passed away unexpectedly on Friday, May 24, 2013, at his daughter’s residence in Amherst Junction, Wis.
He was born in Shawano, Wis., on Jan. 13, 1943, a son of the late Ralph and Faith (Laahs) Seaman.
He married Karen J. Loberg on June 27, 1964, in Clintonville, Wis. Mike worked for Wisconsin Electric/We Energies out of Appleton, Wis., until his retirement in 2005. He spent his winters in Cape Coral and his summers at the cabin in Sand Lake, Florence County, Wis.
Mike enjoyed fishing in the Gulf of Mexico, hunting, carving, flying model airplanes and volunteering for Hope Hospice in Cape Coral He also loved to spend time at the cabin with his family and granddaughters.
Survivors include his wife, Karen Seaman of Cape Coral; children, Craig Seaman of Fort Myers, Fla., Melissa (Mike) Simonis of Amherst Junction; and grandchildren, Alyssa Hilker and Mikaela Hilker, both of Amherst Junction.
A memorial service will be held at Peace Lutheran Church in Amherst, Wis., at 2:30 p.m. on Friday with Reverend Gretchen Anderson officiating.
Memorial Visitation will be held on Friday from 1 p.m. until the time of the service at the church.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established in his name.
The Jungers-Holly Funeral Home of Amherst is assisting the family with arrangements.
