CRYSTAL FALLS – Deputies from the Iron County Sheriff’s Office responded to reports of breaking and entering in the Smokey Lake area of Stambaugh Township on Friday.

Iron County Sheriff’s deputies are investigating the breaking and entering of four seasonal residences in the area.

Two of the residences sustained significant damage while being entered, officials indicated.

Nearby in Wisconsin, Vilas County Sheriff’s deputies are also investigating breaking and entering incidents with similar circumstances.

No suspects have been identified at this time.

Smokey Lake is near the Michigan-Wisconsin State line approximately eight miles from Phelps, Wis.
