VFW Post 4805 announces Memorial?Day events

FELCH – The Felch-Breen Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 4805 has announced its Memorial Day services.

The group will assemble at the VFW Clubhouse at Norway Lake at 8 a.m. All VFW members, as well as area veterans are encouraged to participate in these services.

Services schedule is as follows: Ralph, 9 a.m.; Felch, 10:15 a.m. and Foster City, 11 a.m.

“Every year we lose some of our older members. These World War II veterans are the ones that started our Memorial Day services when they returned from the war,” said VFW commander Jim Edberg.

“Most of the remaining World War II veterans are no longer able to be a part of the services,” he adds. “We need the help of all veterans so that we can continue these services honoring those who have served our country.”

The uniform of the day is dark pants and white shirt. If you are able to wear your uniform, please do so. All active duty military are encouraged to participate.

Everyone is encouraged to continue observing Memorial Day following the events by attending an open house at the VFW Clubhouse at Norway Lake. Food, refreshments and music will be provided.

Donations will be accepted to support their scholarship and local service projects. There will also be a 50/50 drawing held.
