Norway softball reaches 25 wins
EBEN – Norway finished up the softball regular season with doubleheader sweep, beating Superior Central 13-3 and 8-5 here Tuesday.
“These girls have really played so well all season they are great kids,” Knights coach Scott Conery said. “They have done everything we have asked of them and more.”
Ashly Zanon got the win in the first game, giving up three runs on six hits with two walks and one strikeout. Norway’s 13 hits included three each by Bailey Grayvold and Harlie Castor. Grayvold his a two-run homer in the Knights five-run fifth which broke open a 2-1 game.
Four players had two hits each as the Knights broke a 5-5 tie in the fifth inning of game two.
Grayvold and Jacey Bal opened the game with hits and would later score. Bobbi Hulce hit a two-run double in the second.
Castor worked the circle, allowing eight hits, five walks while fanning three.
Norway, Mid-Peninsula Conference champs, finished the regular season 25-6. District play begins Tuesday, with the Knights hosting Stephenson at 3 p.m.
