NIAGARA, Wis. – Dolores F. Berger, 83, of Niagara, died Saturday, May 18, 2013, at Maryhill Manor in Niagara.
She was born on July 14, 1929, in Niagara, the daughter of the late Joseph and Agnes (Genrich) Saler.
Dolores graduated from Niagara High School. She married Donald W. Berger on Sept. 20, 1947, at St. Anthony Catholic Church in Niagara. He preceded her in death on Aug. 1, 1977.
Her family was very important to her and she loved spending time with her grandchildren. Dolores will be remembered as a jokester, who enjoyed a good laugh. She enjoyed knitting, gardening, canning, feeding the birds and deer, and doing plastic canvas and other crafts. She also participated in the Shawl Ministry at the Niagara Senior Center.
Dolores is survived by four children, Noreen (Richard) Brown of Gibsonberg, Ohio, Donna (Frank) Galiger of Porterfield, Wis., Paula (Bruce) Nygard of Niagara, and Gary (Laura) Berger of Pembine, Wis.; five grandchildren, Jeremia (Summers) Berger, Shannon (Shawn) Fligg, Matt Brown, Kimberly Nygard, and Timothy Nygard; three great-grandchildren, Shianne and Alyssa Berger, and Emily Fligg; and nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by a son, Ronald; and a brother, Orville Saler.
Visitation will be Wednesday from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Erickson-Rochon & Nash Funeral Home.
Funeral services follow at 1 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Nancy Reese will officiate.
Burial will be in the Niagara Cemetery.
Memorials can be made in Dolores’ name to the Whitetail Ridge Wing at Maryhill Manor.
