ACE to hear presentation on firearms training for teachers

IRON MOUNTAIN – Americans for Constitutional Enforcement (ACE) will hear a presentation on Tuesday from Tony Erickson of Bullseyes to Badguys, a local firearm training service.

Erickson will speak about the newly implemented S.T.A.R. program. S.T.A.R. is the name used to describe “School Teachers Armed Response.”

When the S.T.A.R. program started just six months ago the training team planned to train teachers in Dickinson County free of charge. The demand for this training has been so high, teachers have been calling to take part from around the Upper Peninsula and northern Wisconsin.

Attend the meeting to learn more and meet some of the instructors.

Social hour with snacks, coffee and water is at 5:30 p.m. with the presentation from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.

There will be a charge of $3/person or $5/couple.

Erickson was the first instructor in Michigan and now one of three certified in the NRA Advanced Defensive Pistol Course (the highest level of training the NRA has for defensive protection pistol).

ACE will have a special drawing on July 4 to give away a Marlin 270 hunting rifle (thanks to The Gun Barn of Iron River). Tickets will be sold at this meeting for $5/1 or $20/5.

Next month, June 18, ACE meets with a program on “Changes in Health Care in the U.S.”

On July 16, ACE will host State Sen. Tom Casperson, R-Escanaba, to discuss “Wolf Hunt Referendum – Is This Only The Start of the Loss of Our Hunting Rights?”

ACE meets the third Tuesday of every month (except December) at Recreation Lanes at the above times.
