Wishful thinking

With the current uproar over whether Syria used chemical weapons in its attempt to quell the uprising in that country I fail to understand why using chemical weapons in a war is unacceptable, but using 50-caliber machine guns that literally can decapitate and rip the intestines out of a human being or using mortars and missiles that turn human beings into body fragments is acceptable. (The mortars and missiles do not discriminate by the way. If children are in the near vicinity the direction of the shrapnel does not swerve to avoid.)

I know it is wishful thinking, but wouldn’t it be glorious to live in a world where not only are chemical weapons unacceptable, but war itself.
