PEMBINE, Wis. – Shelby Maruszczak, Larissa Keeley and Miranda Kelly powered Goodman-Pembine past Elcho, 7-4 and 21-19, in a Northern Lakes Conferece doubleheader.
In the opener, Patriots pitcher Rachel Stankevich permitted four hits and struck out six.
Maruszczak led the offense with two hits, including a second-inning double. Marissa Moloney scored 2 runs, with a walk and a single.
The Patriots gathered nine hits off Elcho pitcher Makayla Raith.
In the second game, GP overcame 21 Elcho hits and a pair of Kelly Hanson home runs to win the slugfest.
For the Patriots, Keeley laced five hits in five trips and scored four runs. Kelly tallied four hits and four runs.
“We hit well and had smart base running to maintain the lead,” Patriots coach Sara Seidel said of the second game.
Jenna Decker was the winning pitcher for the Patriots.
