Marie Ann Burns

KINGSFORD – Marie Ann Burns, 74, of Kingsford, passed away on Monday, April 29, 2013, at OSF St. Francis Hospital in Escanaba.

She was born on Dec. 20, 1938, in Stambaugh, daughter of the late John and Amelia (Hulko) Rosenlof. She attended the Crystal Falls schools, graduating from Crystal Falls High School in 1956. She lived in Sagola for 40 years, before moving to Kingsford.

Marie married James Burns in Crystal Falls in 1956, and he preceded her in death on Jan. 15, 1997. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church. In her spare time she loved her oil painting.

Marie is survived by her sons, Patrick Burns (Sue Bottesi) of Iron Mountain and Timothy Burns of Waupun, Wis.; daughters, Susan (David) Ringuette of Iron Mountain, and Rita (Larry) Dugree of Hermansville; brothers, Charles Lehtinen and Frank Suheski; sister, Charlene Brown of Grand Rapids; seven grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a daughter, Myra Sleik.

Visitation will be Friday from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. at the Erickson-Rochon & Nash Funeral Home in Iron Mountain.

The funeral service will follow Friday at 11 a.m. at the funeral home. Rev. Michael March will officiate.

Burial will be in the Channing Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial will be established in her memory.
