The Daily News App now available for Droid devices

IRON MOUNTAIN – Readers of The Daily News can now get their local hometown news on the Android platform.

The Daily News’s new Android app is available as a free download through the Google Play Store. Download it by searching the store “The Daily News” or visiting on an Android device.

Since its founding on April 11, 1921, The Daily News has provided the latest news, sports, features and opinions to its central Upper Peninsula and northeastern Wisconsin readers.

Each day, The Daily News disseminates information through printed newspapers and via its Web site.

In October, The Daily News launched its first mobile app on the iPhone platform.

The Daily New is committed to being the leading media source in the central Upper Peninsula and northeastern Wisconsin. The new mobile Android app will allow the 92-year-old paper to reach its readers on the go.

Users of the Android mobile app will receive breaking news alerts, the day’s top news and sports stories, features on local residents who are doing extraordinary things, along with being able to vote in the newspaper’s daily polls and search for articles.

The Daily News’s commitment to the central Upper Peninsula and northeastern Wisconsin has remained solid for more than 92 years, and with the release of this new app, the newspaper will continue that commitment by satisfying the changing needs of local readers.
