Vehicles stolen and burned in Iron River

IRON RIVER – The Iron River Police Department is investigating the theft and arson of two vehicles, as well as multiple reports of vehicles being entered.
All of the incidents occurred in the early morning hours on Tuesday.
At 3:16 a.m., an officer noticed a Plymouth Neon burning on the off road vehicle (ORV) grade near Spruce Street.
At 4:20 a.m., Iron County Central Dispatch received a report of a Ford Windstar burning at the former Cannon Mine property.
Further investigation revealed that both vehicles had been stolen from residences in Iron River.
The West Iron County Fire Department was dispatched to both fires. The Iron County Sheriff’s Department will be handling the second arson incident.
Also on Tuesday morning, the Iron River Police Department received numerous complaints of vehicles being entered. No items were taken from the vehicles.
Officers would like to remind residents to lock their vehicles.
