MANSFIELD TOWNSHIP – Larry J. Stream, 68, of Mansfield Township, passed away Saturday, April 13, 2013, at Dickinson County Memorial Hospital in Iron Mountain.
He was born Sept. 27, 1944, in Crystal Falls, son of the late Frank and Eva (Alto) Stream.
Larry attended school in Crystal Falls and graduated from Forest Park High School, class of 1963.
He joined the United States Air Force serving during the Vietnam War and was honorably discharged June 5, 1968, with the rank of sergeant. Following his military service, Larry went to Northern Michigan University and received a bachelor of arts degree. He taught industrial arts in Wausaukee, Wis. until his retirement.
He was an active outdoorsman, enjoying hunting, fishing, and trapping as well as snowmobiling. Larry was a member of the Sagola Township Sportsmen’s Club in Sagola.
Survivors include two sons, Jon (Heather Perez) Stream of Tioga, Pa. and James (Jacqueline) Stream of Whittier, Calif.; two daughters, Sherry (Steve Bella) Stream of Houghton and Shelly (Mauricio Ortiz) Stream of Zion, Ill; five grandchildren, Christian Jay Stream, Catherine Jayden Stream, Cian James Stream, Emily Ortiz, and Evangelina Ortiz; two brothers, Frank M. (Linda) Stream of Wausaukee, Wis. and William E. (Julie) Stream of Ishpeming; his former spouse, Sandra Stream of Crystal Falls; and nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Visitation will be Thursday from 9:30 a.m. to 11 a.m. at Old Mansfield Church in Mansfield.
The funeral service will follow Thursday at 11 a.m. at the church. Rev. Micheal Laakko will officiate.
Burial will be in Evergreen Memorial Cemetery in Crystal Falls.
