CHICAGO – Candace Ann “Candy” Wolf (McKinnon), 60, of Chicago, passed away unexpectedly at her farm in Berrien Springs, Mich., on Monday, April 8, 2013. S
She was born on April 11, 1952, in Providence, R.I., daughter of Frank and the late Louise (Wonders) McKinnon. She attended the Iron Mountain Schools, graduating from Iron Mountain High School in 1970. Candy went on to attend St. Mary’s College of Notre Dame, and graduated with a bachelor’s degree in psychology in 1974.
She married Robert N. Wolf Jr. on July 6, 1974, and together they spent 38 wonderful years. She spent her days operating the Wolf Ranch, where her intense love of animals and flowers flourished.
Candy is survived by her loving husband, Robert N. Wolf Jr. of Chicago; her children, Christopher (Erin) Wolf of Chicago and Courtney (Jeff) Marrone of Chicago; her grandchildren, Casey and O’Connor Wolf and Avery Marrone; her loving father, Frank McKinnon of Iron Mountain; brother, Mark (Diane) McKinnon of Iron Mountain; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Louise McKinnon on May 21, 2010.
Visitation services were held Friday at the Donnellan Family Funeral Home in Skokie, Ill. A funeral Mass followed Saturday at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church in Glenview, Ill.
Candy will be greatly missed by all who knew her. She was truly a free spirit who is now a spirit set free. She will long be remembered for her deep religious convictions, her fiery political discussions, and above all, her unbounded love of all living things.
