IRON RIVER – Dale A. Everson, 68, of Iron River, died Tuesday, April 2, 2013, at Dickinson County Memorial Hospital in Iron Mountain.
Dale was born Oct. 10, 1944, in Marquette, the son of Dolcy Everson and Margaret (Cain) Everson, and step-father, Bernie Deschaine. He attended the Marquette Schools. He served in the U.S. Army in Vietnam, and was also stationed in Germany, Alaska, Texas, Georgia and Korea.
Dale married the former Sharon Meneguzzo on Jan. 14, 1967, at St. Agnes Catholic Church in Iron River and the couple celebrated their 46th wedding anniversary this year.
He was a member of St. Agnes Catholic Church of Iron River. Dale enjoyed golfing, working in the yard, walking their dog, Mr. Bosley, sitting on his front porch, and spending time with his grandsons and friends at Kermit’s.
Dale is survived by his wife, Sharon; son, Sean (Brenda) Everson of Suwanee, Ga.; daughter, Dawn Everson of Iron Mountain; brothers, Gary (Karen) Everson of California and Gordon (Mary Ann) Everson of Gladstone; and three grandsons, Austin, Grant, and Parker.
He is also survived by his brothers-in-law, Anthony (Dena) Meneguzzo and Paul (Tricia) Meneguzzo; sisters-in-law, Kay (Charles) Christensen, Kim (Gary) Kunchynski, Susan (Robert) Sprague, Mary Jo (Chris) Maksym, and Cheryl (Jim) Massie; and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his step-father; an infant sister; and his brother-in-law, Michael Meneguzzo.
Visitation will be Monday, April 8, from 9 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. at the Jacobs Funeral Home in Iron River.
Funeral services will be Monday at 11 a.m. at St. Agnes Catholic Church in Iron River, with Rev. Gregory Veneklasse to offer the Mass of Christian Burial.
