AURORA, Wis. – Rodger D. Chrisman, 91, of Aurora, passed away on Monday, April 1, 2013, at his home.
Rodger was born on March 4, 1922, in Walker, Minn., one of 14 children born to the late Verne and Elizabeth (DeGraaf) Chrisman. He was a 1940 graduate of Kingsford High School.
Rodger served 21 years in the United States Navy. After retiring from the Navy, he worked in civil service, fully retiring in 1977.
He married Linda Ison on Jan. 17, 1970, in Coronado, Calif. After Rodger’s retirement, they returned to this area.
He was a lifetime member of the Veterens of Foreign Wars.
Rodger is survived by his wife, Linda; his children, Randall (Karen) Chrisman of McHenry, Ill., Holly (Douglas Raith) Chrisman of Edinburgh, Scotland, and Jesse Chrisman of Waukesha, Wis. He is also survived by three brothers; four sisters; five grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
Rodger was preceded in death by a sister and five brothers.
A memorial gathering will take place on Friday from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. at the Erickson-Rochon & Nash Funeral Home of Iron Mountain.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in his memory to the Aurora Volunteer Fire Department.
