POWERS – Elizabeth Ann Otradovec, 72, was born July 3, 1940, to Ruben and Martha (Bertrand) Doyen in Menominee. She fought courageously but lost her battle to cancer with her loved ones close by on Saturday, March 30, 2013, at her home.
Betty was raised in Stephenson and graduated from Stephenson High School in 1958. She married Howard Otradovec in August 1958 at St. Frederick Catholic Church in Daggett. Betty moved to Powers a while ago and lived there until her death.
Betty was a member of St. John Neumann Catholic Church of Spalding and was active with the St. Anne’s Society. She was also a member of the Powers Spalding Lions Club. She enjoyed knitting, crocheting, playing cards, cooking, and helping others. The company of her children, grandchildren and great-grandchild were most important in her life.
Betty is survived by three children, Scott of Powers, Karen (David) Broeders of Bark River, and Lisa (Tony) Walechka of Wilson; four grandchildren, Adam Walechka and his girlfriend Kristen, Jennifer Broeders and her boyfriend Sean, Amanda (Chris) LeBoeuf, and Christopher Broeders; a great-granddaughter, Gabriella LeBoeuf, and expecting her second great-grandchild this summer; a brother, James Doyen; a sister, Mary Sievert; and several nieces and nephews.
Betty was preceded in death by her parents; her brothers, Joe, John, and Gene; a sister, Therese Wery; sister-in-law, Nina Doyen; brother-in-law, Edwin Wery; great-nephew, Travis Thompson; and special friend, Donald DeMille.
Friends may call at St. John Neumann Catholic Church in Spalding on Wednesday from 1 p.m. Central time until the Mass of Christian Burial at 4 p.m. Father Michael Ocran will be officiating.
Burial in Nadeau Township Cemetery.
