Felch driver arrested after chase

IRON MOUNTAIN – A Felch man was arrested for fleeing and eluding and operating while intoxicated on Thursday night following a vehicle chase in northern Dickinson County.
Lt. Derek Dixon of the Dickinson County Sheriff’s Office said that deputies attempted to conduct a traffic stop on a vehicle at about 10:30 p.m. on M-69 near Quarry Road.
The vehicle accelerated and deputies initiated a pursuit, said Lt. Dixon.
The vehicle travelled through Felch, turned onto Metropolitan Road, then turned onto Church Road.
Lt. Dixon said that while on Church Road, the vehicle crashed into a snowbank. The driver exited the vehicle and led deputies on a short foot chase, he added.
The driver, a 44-year-old Felch man, was arrested for fleeing and eluding and operating while intoxicated.
Lt. Dixon said that no one was injured.
Michigan State Police troopers assisted.
