Meanwhile, a 62-year-old man was injured Saturday morning in Houghton County when his snowmobile collided with a truck. Jerrold Juett of Marin, Iowa, was thrown from his snowmobile and suffered a back injury, according to the Houghton County Sheriff Department. He was transported by Mercy Ambulance to Keweenaw Memorial/Aspirius Hospital.

Juett failed to stop at the trail access to Osceola Road in Calumet Township at about 9:30 a.m. and hit a 1973 Ford truck driven by John Banovetz of Calumet, deputies said. Banovetz was not injured, but his vehicle had to be towed from the scene.
