Wausaukee woman sent to prison
MARINETTE, Wis. – A Wausaukee, Wis., woman who admitted to embezzling thousands of dollars from the Wausaukee Rescue Squad will spend eight years in prison.
Amanda R. Stumbris, 41, received the sentence in Marinette County Circuit Court.
The sentence calls for two years of initial confinement for each of four felony counts of theft in a business setting. All sentences will run consecutive to each other.
After serving prison time, Stumbris will have to complete two years of extended supervision for each count. These will also run consecutive to each other.
While serving as treasurer of the Wausaukee Rescue Squad, Stumbris used the squad’s debit card for her own personal expenses, according to the criminal complaint filed in Marinette County Court.
Records show she took $132,505.23 in debit card purchases and extra payroll checks between 2009 and 2012.
