NIU men’s volleyball

DUNBAR, Wis. – Northland International University bowed to league-leading UW-Oshkosh 3-1 (15-25, 25-14, 25-16, 25-16) in men’s volleyball at the Pioneer Center.

NIU, sixth in Wisconsin Volleyball Conference’s Division 2, served 100 percent with three aces in winning the opener.

“We started out playing real well, and they were a little flat,” said NIU captain Minshik Park. “They got better and we didn’t so the match slipped away from us.”

Jon Conover was the best hitter for NIU with 8 kills on 22 swings. Park followed with 6 kills and 2 aces. Aaron Debutiaco had 5 kills, 8 digs and 28 assists.

The Pioneers go on spring break and return Tuesday, March 26, to host Michigan Tech at 7:30 p.m. This will be the last NIU men’s volleyball match before the conference tournament at UW-Oshkosh on March 29-30.
