Sagola’s Breanne Stroud and Gogebic Community College have not lost a women’s basketball game since early January.

“I have a lot of faith in us, and Stephanie (Coach Justinak) has a lot of confidence in us,” Stroud, a former North Dickinson County School standout, told The Daily Globe. “We have a lot of depth and everybody does their job and gets playing time.

“We work real well together as a team. I knew we would do really well because we’re so fast.”

The two-year Ironwood school stands 18-3 on the season after beating Northland International 74-55.

“We think we can go pretty far in the tournament,” Stroud said.

Gogebic completes the regular season today at Silver Lake College.
