Flivvers fall to Jeffers

HOUGHTON – Kingsford gave up the tying goal in the final minute of regulation and the winning goal in the first minute of overtime as Jeffers rallied for a 7-6 high school hockey decision Saturday.

The Flivvers, with three players each scoring two goals, carried a 6-4 lead into the third period.

Reid Pietila, Marcus Andrews and Ted Pietila each tallied two goals in the game. Reid Pietila added three assists while Tony Ward and Ted Pietila had two apiece. Andrews, Sean Ryan and Nick Brule also recorded assists.

Westley Paupore was in goal for the Flivvers (9-11-1), who host Marquette in a make-up game Monday at Mountain View Arena.

Travis Wesa, who collected two goals and an assist, netted the deciding goal in overtime. Jeffers improved to 14-9 on the season.
