Mountaineers rally comes up short at Negaunee

NEGAUNEE – Freshman Katie Brule put in 13 points for Iron Mountain in a 58-43 Mid-Peninsula loss at Negaunee Thursday evening.

“It was a tough, hard-fought Mid-Pen game,” Mountaineers coach John Hogberg said.

Iron Mountain was able to recover from a slow start to get within six in the fourth quater.

“It wasn’t a 15-point game,” Hogberg said. “We were within striking distance, just couldn’t get there. We played well after our slow start.”

Mountaineers also got seven points each from Sarah Pirkola and Alena Herman.

Iron Mountain (3-13, 2-9), plays at Forest Park Monday night.
