Plea deal in Alpha embezzlement case

CRYSTAL FALLS – A former Alpha clerk accused of embezzling money from the village has accepted a plea deal.

Nicholas John Rickman, 34, of Alpha pleaded guilty to three amended felony counts of attempted forgery. Each count carries a maximum penalty of seven years in prison.

Additional counts of uttering and publishing and embezzlement were dismissed.

Rickman will be sentenced in Iron County Trial Court on March 4.
