City Councils, Florence School Board planning meetings tonight

The Iron Mountain City Council will meet today at 6:30 p.m. in the council room of the city hall building, 501 S. Stephenson Ave. in Iron Mountain.
Under old business, the council will discuss the sign ordinance.
New business on the agenda includes approval of natural gas contract terms, mid-year budget amendment, and establishing a public hearing date in reference to purchasing a squad car through Rural Development.
The Kingsford City Council will meet today at 6:30 p.m. in the council room, located upstairs of the city hall building, 305 S. Carpenter Ave. in Kingsford.
The agenda includes Forest Management Services proposals and a request for a public hearing regarding a USDA grant for a patrol car.
The Norway City Council will meet today at 7 p.m. in the council room of the city hall building, 915 Main St. in Norway.
Agenda items include resolutions on property annexation, safe routes to school and marijuana dispensary moratorium. The council will also hear a presentation from Tom Gordon of Kiser Hydro on the Sturgeon Falls hydroelectric project and the Central Upper Peninsula Planning Agency. Approval will be given for a special events application for the Lions Club Picnic at Marion Park.
The Florence School District Board of Education will hold a special meeting today at 5 p.m. in the high school Room 215.
New business includes football/track, band field trip, Spanish field trip, second reading of the Graduation Policy IKF, 403 (b) Salary Reduction Agreement in the employee handbook,and WASB convention report.
A closed session is also planned to discuss personnel, staffing/contracts/compensation/performance and specific student matters.
