Peter Frecchio Jr.
NORWAY – Peter Paul Frecchio Jr., 52, of Norway, died Saturday, Jan. 26, 2013, at his home.
He was born on July 23, 1960, in Norway, son of the late Charlotte E. (Smail) and Peter P. Frecchio Sr.
Peter graduated from Norway High School in 1978. He received his bachelor’s degree in political science/history and mass communications from Northern Michigan University in 1982.
He worked at various radio stations in Michigan and Pennsylvania. His happiest times were when he was on the radio, talking over the airwaves to his many listeners.
He loved music, especially rock and roll, and his favorite artists were the Beatles and Elvis.
Peter was a master of trivia and enjoyed playing Trivial Pursuit, earning the nickname “the Wizard.”
He followed politics and loved to get into a great debate. He was known for his sense of humor and being a good friend to all who knew him.
He was proud of his Italian heritage, and learned to speak Italian as an adult. Peter enjoyed eating a good pasty and following the Green Bay Packers. Peter loved animals and will be missed by his dog “Princess.”
He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Kingsford.
Peter is survived by his sister, Peggy (Harry) Miller of Mesa, Ariz.; two aunts, Marge Hodgins of Kingsford and Carol Trudell of Negaunee; a nephew, Ryan (Sunday) Miller and their children, Eden and Shephard; a niece, Melanie Miller; and many cousins and dear friends.
Private family services will be held.
Burial will be in the Norway Township Cemetery.
