A terrible thing

I wrote earlier this year to express my feelings over the re-election of Barack Obama. I feel that it is a terrible thing that will have terrible consequences.

I decided to read his book, “Dreams Of My Father.” I was impressed how well it is written but as I read more I was disturbed by his bitterness toward America.

A recent editorial written by Thomas Sowell, a noted columnist, author and scholar, he had this to say: “If someone wrote a novel about a man who was raised from childhood to resent the successful and despise the basic values of America – and who then went on to become president of the United States, that novel would be considered unbelievable even for a work of fiction. Yet that is what happened in real life.”

He also said later in the same editorial that “After watching a documentary about the tragic story of Jonestown, I was struck by the utterly unthinking way that so many people put themselves completely at the mercy of a glib and warped man, who led them to degradation and destruction. And I could not help thinking of the parallel with the way we put a glib and warped man in the White House.”

I say amen to that and wonder if enough people will wake from their trance before it is too late.

When Obama was running he demeaned the president. He said that the national debt was unpatriotic. It was $10 trillion then.

He, as a senator, recommended voting to not raise the debt ceiling.

He has completely reversed it now and his followers are still mesmerized. The German people were duped. Is history repeating?
