IRON MOUNTAIN – Ruth E. Hagberg, 68, of Iron Mountain, passed away on Tuesday, Jan. 22, 2013, at Dickinson County Memorial Hospital.
Ruth was born in Iron Mountain on July 6, 1944, daughter of the late Iver and Catherine (Morris) Moen.
Ruth was a lifelong resident of the area and was a 1962 graduate of Kingsford High School. She was employed by the First National Bank for more than 20 years, retiring in 2006. She also worked as an emergency medical technician for the Niagara Area Rescue Squad and was secretary/treasurer for the Sunday Couples Bowling League for many years.
Ruth was a member of the First Lutheran Church and in recent years, has been involved with the church’s food pantry.
Ruth enjoyed bowling and playing darts. She was an avid soccer fan and enjoyed attending her children’s and grandchildren’s SAY, and other leagues, soccer games for many years. She also enjoyed traveling with her husband on their motorcycle.
Ruth is survived by her husband of 49 years, Russell; three daughters, Michelle (Curtis) Stebic of Crystal Falls, Melanie (Wade) Hagberg of Kingsford, and Melissa (Ron) Maki of Kingsford; two brothers, Clifford (Betsy) Moen of Kennesaw, Ga., and Marvin (Shirley) Moen of Manitowoc, Wis.; seven grandchildren, Nathan (Twyla) Maycroft, Dustin Currie, Victoria Boersma, Daniel Stebic, Arron Stebic, Mia Kirshner and Trent Maki; and two great-grandchildren, Serenity and Ezio Maycroft, along with many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Ruth was preceded in death by one sister, Lila Kizziah.
Visitation will be Monday, Jan. 28, from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. at First Lutheran Church in Iron Mountain.
Funeral services will follow Monday at 11 a.m. at the church.
Burial will be in Cemetery Park.
