Meyer goes to NMU
MARQUETTE – Former Kingsford High School coach Mandie Meyer has been named an assistant coach with the Northern Michigan University volleyball team.
Meyer, a student-athlete under Yoder from 2006-09, was the head varsity volleyball coach at Kingsford High School during the 2012 season.
“Mandie brings a level of experience, maturity and passion to compliment our staff,” NMU head coach Dominic Yoder said. “She will focus on team serve reception, serving skills and systems and will also work with the left side hitters.”
Meyer served as a volunteer assistant coach for Yoder during the 2011 season.
During the 2010 season, Meyer coached the Negaunee High School varsity team and also was a volunteer coach for the Articatz Volleyball Club of Marquette.
Meyer was a two-time all-Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference selection. She was an honorable mention selection to the American Volleyball Coaches Association Great Lakes Region Team.
Meyer was a captain, two-time team MVP, appeared in 366 career matches and is fifth in NMU history with 1,211 kills and 11th in career digs 1,036.
Meyer has a bachelor’s degree from Northern in physical education with an emphasis in coaching.
