She was born on Dec. 3, 1924, in Norway, daughter of the late Frank and Mary (Brum) Poppe. The doctors told her parents she wouldn’t make her it to her 7th birthday, but Evelyn defied the odds.

She is survived by her nieces and nephews, Sandra Blom of Ocala, Fla., James Bianchi of Iron Mountain, Sally Stedman of Ormond Beach, Fla., and David Stedman of Chicago.
Evelyn was preceded in death by her sisters, Irene Bianchi and Margaret Stedman.
Her family would like to thank the doctors and nurses at Dickinson County Memorial Hospital and the staff at Maryhill Manor for all their care and concern over the years.
