IRON MOUNTAIN – Paul B. Larson, 86, of Iron Mountain, died Monday, Jan. 21, 2013, at Dickinson County Memorial Hospital.
He was born on Jan. 31, 1926, in Iron Mountain, son of the late Alfred and Cristine (Seid) Larson.
Paul served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He married Eleanor Carollo on April 4, 1951, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church rectory. The couple enjoyed 61 years of marriage.
He worked at Grede Foundry for 44 years, retiring in 1988. Paul enjoyed woodworking, fishing, and in his younger years, hunting. Each summer Paul grew a large vegetable garden and beautiful flowers.
Paul is survived by his wife, Eleanor; three children, Karen (Dale) Zeni of Vulcan, Dean (Donna) Larson of Waudedah, and Gail (Jim) Jacobson of Iron Mountain; five grandchildren, Dan Zeni, Bret Kraemer, Francis Kraemer, Jesse Jacobson, and Ryan Jacobson; six great-grandchildren, Jordan and Elliot Kraemer, and Keegan, Hallie, Ellie, and Mason Jacobson; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by three brothers and three sisters.
Visitation will be Friday from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at Erickson-Rochon & Nash Funeral Home.
Funeral services will follow on Friday at 12:30 p.m. at the funeral home. Father Ray Valerio will officiate.
Burial will be in Dickinson County Memorial Gardens.
