NORWAY – Mabel S. Clark, 95, of Norway, went to be with the Lord on Monday, Jan. 14, 2013, at Hyland Nursing Home in Iron Mountain.
She was born on Aug. 10, 1917, in Mountain Lake, Minn., the daughter of the late Isaac and Susan (Bargain) Ott.
Mabel graduated from Channing High School in 1935.
She married Leslie Clark on Sept. 11, 1937, and he preceded her in death in 1991.
Mabel was a member of First Baptist Church in Norway, where she was a Sunday school teacher and helped with the Children’s Club.
She was a dairy farmer, and worked at Norway Gravure for many years. She enjoyed gardening, flowers, reading, making quilts for her family and the Salvation Army, and visiting with family and spending time with her grandchildren.
Mabel is survived by her sons, Gerald (Peggy) Clark of Brooksville, Fla., Roger (Pam) Clark of Waucedah, Chuck (Mary Ann) Clark of Waucedah, and Rick (Barb) Clark of Luxemberg, Wis.; daughters, Tammy Clark of Norway, Loreen (Jim) Howe of Port Huron, and Jeanne (Dave) Mott of Norway; 17 grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren; seven great-great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her brothers, John and George Ott; and sisters, Linda Rusch and Florence Sparks.
Visitation will be held on Thursday from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Ortman Funeral Home in Norway.
Funeral services will be held on Friday at 10 a.m. at the funeral home, with Pastor Andrew Filizetti of First Baptist Church in Norway, officiating.
Interment will follow at the Norway Township Cemetery.
