CRANDON, Wis. – Charges have been filed against the Florence men accused of burglarizing the Laona Pharmacy last month.

Charles E. Hetzer, 27, and Sheldon L. Burkart, 26, each face one felony count of burglary to a building or dwelling, one felony count of criminal damage to property-more than $2,500, and seven misdemeanor counts of theft of movable property-less than $2,500.

Hetzer also faces a misdemeanor count of bail jumping.

If convicted, each defendant could spend up to 16 years in prison.

Hetzer is scheduled for an initial appearance in Forest County Court on Jan. 23. Burkart does not yet have a court date scheduled.

The burglary occurred on Dec. 12, when a masked individual gained entrance to the Laona Pharmacy by breaking through a wall between the Laona Clinic and the pharmacy. The individual then stole several bottles of narcotics.
