HAMILTON LAKES – Roy James Guiliani, 63, of Hamilton Lakes, died Monday, Jan. 7, 2013, at Dickinson County Memorial Hospital in Iron Mountain.
He was born on July 22, 1949, in Norway, the son of the late Bernard and Alice (Mish) Guiliani.
Roy graduated from Norway High School in 1967, and then Michigan State University in 1971.
He married Luanne Addington on Aug. 5, 1972, in Midland, Mich.
Roy worked as a teacher in Prairie Farm, Wis., and at Holy Spirit School in Norway; he also worked for Sears, AllState Insurance and Home Depot.
He was a member of St. Barbara Catholic Church, and enjoyed hunting, bowling, camp, watching the Green Bay Packers and spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.
Roy is survived by his wife of 40 years, Luanne; son, Anthony (Alicia) Guiliani of Loretto; daughter, Tina (Todd) Coron of Norway; grandsons, Austin and Anthony James II Guiliani and Michael and Tyler Coron; brother, Robert (Linda) Guiliani of Clare, Mich.; sisters, Joyce (David) Mattson of Cape Coral, Fla., and Alice Van Eyck of Menominee; brother-in-law, Jack (Bill) Addington of Dubuque, Iowa; sister-in-law, Jane (Mark) Priniski of Rib Lake, Wis.; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his sister, Katherine Guiliani; stepfather, Earl “Moose” Hollingsworth; brother-in-law, Eugene Van Eyck; nephew, Steve Mattson; and father-in-law, James W. Addington.
Visitation will be Thursday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at St. Barbara Catholic Church in Vulcan.
The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday at 1 p.m. at the church with Fr. Timothy Ekaitis, presiding.
