CRYSTAL FALLS – Lois Mae Stacy, 80, of Crystal Falls, passed away on Saturday, Dec. 29, 2012, at the Iron County Medical Care Facility in Crystal Falls.
She was born on May 1, 1932, in Crystal Falls, daughter of the late Richard and Rose (Matchett) Anderson. She was a lifelong resident of Crystal Falls.
Lois worked for Community Action Agency, and then for the Department of Social Services for 25 years, before retiring in November 1992.
After retiring, Lois spent her time caring for the elderly. She enjoyed working in her flower garden, cooking, baking, doing crossword puzzles, and spending time with her family and friends.
Lois is survived by her three daughters, Gail (Ralph) Marinoff of Crystal Falls, Dianne Blazier (Dennis Mitchell) of Iron River, and Barb (Jim) Anderson of Crystal Falls; nine grandchildren, David (Anna) Ponchaud, Chris (Samantha) Ponchaud, Brooke Ponchaud (Gar Robarge), Sam (Alyssa) Blazier, Rob (Justina) Blazier, Ryan (Becky) Blazier, Jennifer (Ed) Clemo, Nicholas Anderson and Adam Anderson; 18 great-grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren; two sisters, Louise Adams (Jim Winkler) of Arizona and Pat Golomb of Butternut, Wis.; brother Ted (Penny) Anderson of Traverse City, Mich.; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Richard and Rose Anderson; an infant daughter; sisters, Lucille Carey and Janet Frederickson; son-in-law, Sam Blazier; great-granddaughter, Jackie Blazier; brothers-in-law, Lawrence Carey and John Golomb; and special friend, Donald Stromberg.
Visitation will be Friday from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. at the Nash Funeral Home in Crystal Falls.
The funeral service will follow Friday at 11 a.m. at the funeral home. Lois’s cousin, Robert Matchett will officiate.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial will be established in her memory.
